If you believe
the Murdoch media, the deal has just been done:
6:30 PM (London time) Update: Rupert Murdoch has succeeded with his $5 billion bid for Dow Jones. Negotiations are now complete and a formal announcement is expected next week.
Not so fast, say Dow Jones and the Bancroft family:
``There is no change in the status of the discussions currently under way,'' Bancroft spokesman Roy Winnick said in an e-mail today. ``News Corp. is continuing to conduct due diligence, and the negotiations are not complete.'
Will any of those vocal Murdoch critics in the Bancroft clan put up a fight? How much money would YOU put into a prolonged court battle with Murdoch?
